Job Description

Responsible for performing welding and fabrication work on ship structures, components, and assemblies as per engineering drawings, welding procedures, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform welding operations using SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW processes as per project requirements. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols. Prepare and set up materials and equipment for welding tasks. Carry out welding on hulls, decks, bulkheads, and other ship structures. Ensure weld quality and dimensional accuracy as per class and project standards. Conduct visual inspection of welds and assist in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) as required. Maintain tools, welding machines, and work areas in proper condition. Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and yard regulations at all times.

Requirements:

ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, or related field. Minimum 2-5 years of experience in shipbuilding, heavy fabrication, or marine industry. Knowledge of various metals (mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and welding positions (1G-6G). Ability to work from heights, confined spaces, and shipyard environments. Certification in welding processes (preferred but not mandatory).
