Job Description

Welder - JD o Role Purpose: Carry out high-quality welding, fitting, and fabrication activities in steel structures, equipment frames, and process plant components using approved WPS. Ensure safe work practices, adherence to quality standards, and timely job completion. o Key Responsibilities: o Perform MIG/MAG and TIG welding as per WPS, drawings, and quality requirements. o Fabrication of steel structures, frames, beams, brackets, platforms, tanks, and process equipment parts. o Fit-up work: marking, cutting, grinding, edge preparation, tack welding, and dimensional accuracy checks. o Operate cutting, grinding, and fabrication tools (AG4/AG7 grinders, oxy/PLASMA cutting, beveling tools). o Read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, weld joint details, and orientation. o Conduct visual inspection (VT) of joints; ensure root gap, alignment, and weld quality before final welding. o Follow pre-heat, interpass temperature, and post-weld cleaning requirements. o Coordinate with QC for weld inspections (PT/MT/UT/Radiography) and rectify defects as instructed.

Maintain consumables: electrodes, filler wires, nozzle cleaning, contact tips, and gas flow checks. o Follow LOTO, hot-work permits, and use PPE (welding helmet, gloves, jacket, shoes). o Support structural assembly, rigging assistance, and shop-floor layout work. o Ensure housekeeping, scrap segregation, and safe handling of gas cylinders. o Skills & Competencies: MIG/MAG & TIG welding proficiency, ability to read fabrication drawings, weld joint identification, knowledge of steel grades, grinding/cutting operations, distortion control basics, good weld finishing, safety-first approach.

Qualifications & Experience: ITI Welder or equivalent trade; 2-8 years experience in fabrication / heavy steel / structural manufacturing industries. o Role Levels: o Welder: 2-4 years o Senior Welder: 5-8 years (multi-process, fit-up + welding, structural fabrication experience) o Shift & Conditions: Rotational shifts, exposure to heat, sparks, fumes, heavy steel fabrication areas; mandatory PPE. o KPIs: Weld quality (repair rate), productivity vs targets, adherence to WPS, dimensional accuracy, rework %, safety compliance, housekeeping.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹42,000.00 per month
