Identify casting defects such as
porosity, blow holes, cracks, shrinkage, and surface defects
.
Carry out grinding, gouging, welding, and finishing operations to correct defects.
Use appropriate welding processes (TIG / MIG / ARC / Micro Welding) as specified for the casting material.
Select correct filler material as per alloy grade and work instructions.
Ensure welding repairs meet
quality, metallurgical, and dimensional standards
.
Conduct visual inspection of repaired areas before submitting parts for QC inspection.
Follow rework limits and ensure no over-welding or distortion of components.
Maintain records of repaired components as per production or quality requirements.
Coordinate with Quality and Production teams for approval of repaired parts.
Maintain welding machines, tools, and accessories in good working condition.
