The Welder is responsible for carrying out all types of welding and fabrication work related to civil structures, including reinforcement welding, steel supports, gates, railings, frames, and pipeline joints. The role ensures that all welding work is done safely, accurately, and as per technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform
arc, gas, or MIG welding
as required for civil construction and structural works.
Fabricate and assemble steel structures, reinforcement cages, gates, grills, or frames as per drawings.
Conduct welding for
supports, scaffolding, base plates, and steel pipelines
used in construction.
Ensure joints and welds meet quality and strength standards.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
Prepare surfaces before welding by cleaning, cutting, and aligning parts.
Operate cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely.
Carry out repairs and maintenance of steel structures when required.
Follow all
safety protocols
and use PPE (welding mask, gloves, safety shoes, apron).
Maintain welding tools, equipment, and material inventory properly.
Report daily work progress to the foreman or site engineer.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum qualification:
ITI / Trade Certificate in Welding

Minimum
3 years of experience
in welding and fabrication at construction sites.
Knowledge of different welding methods (arc, gas, MIG).
Ability to read and follow technical drawings.
Basic understanding of materials like MS, SS, and reinforcement bars.
Must be physically fit and safety-conscious.
