Job Description

A weighbridge operator runs a weighbridge, a platform scale used to weigh vehicles and record their mass, ensuring accurate weighing and data management. Key responsibilities include operating the weighbridge system, maintaining logs, generating reports, performing basic maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing customer service to drivers.

Key Responsibilities

Weighing Operations:

Operate the weighbridge to accurately measure the weight of incoming and outgoing vehicles.

Data Management:

Record gross, tare (empty), and net weights, update records in the system, and maintain detailed logs of all transactions.

Documentation:

Generate shipping documents, weight slip or receipts for drivers.

Maintenance:

Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on the weighbridge equipment to ensure its functionality and accuracy.

Customer Service:

Interact with drivers and logistics personnel, provide clear instructions, and address their queries.

Safety:

Ensure safe operation of the weighbridge and surrounding areas, including proper vehicle positioning and monitoring for unauthorized access.
Required Skills

Computer Skills:

Basic computer proficiency for operating weighbridge software and data entry.

Basic Maintenance:

Ability to perform routine cleaning and minor repairs on equipment and computer system.
