Universal versatile society is a non-political, non-communal and nonprofit making, non-governmental voluntary social organization registered under Societies Registration Act-XXI of 1860 with Registration No. Maha/514/05/Akola on dated 30/06/2005 by the authority of Govt. of Maharashtra\'s Asstt. Registrar of Societies, Akola Region - India. Our Mission: \'Dedicate to serve the community, nation and world by connecting the donors with community-based projects, coordinate the available resources and expertise to promote sustainable development in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals.\' Objectives of the organization: 1. To promote socially, culturally, economically, and/or ecologically sustainable goals through our advocacy projects and transform a village Nagthana into eco village. 2. To save the life of farmers in Vidarbha by serving them through Mental Health Project in 128 villages. 3. To reset the agro-economy of rural Vidarbha through deployment of regenerative agriculture practices which further facilitate marketing of produce through \'Family Farmer\' project. 4. To encourage learning in local environment by rejuvenate public schools through digitalization and Project Based Learning concept which ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote learning opportunities for all. 5. Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. 6. To utilize the potential of women in society and empower them through education and involving them in community development mission.

Context:

Universal Versatile Society (UVS) has launched a prototype of eCommerce platform (https://www.agriinno.com/) that was previously called as \xe2\x80\x9cFamily Farmer\xe2\x80\x9d project. The purpose of this platform is to help local farmers supply organic produce using business analytics tools and provide a value chain for linking farmers to consumers. Moreover, re-connecting isolated dots in the local communities within Vidarbha (India) accelerates the rejuvenation of digital village in the age of AI and business intelligence after COVID-19. This platform with innovative business model embedded emphasises \xe2\x80\x9cResponsible Consumption and Production\xe2\x80\x9d that echoes with SDG 12 and answers the call of FAO to build a more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agri-food system for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind. 1) To ensure the effectiveness, efficiency and smooth operation of this eCommerce platform, we are currently seeking to collaborate with Online Volunteers to test and modify features of the prototype depending on needs. 2) The other online volunteer, with skills in programming, will also have the opportunity to maintain the UVS website (https://www.uvsociety.org/) and connect the eCommerce platform with the main web page through the button \xe2\x80\x9cFamily Market Place\xe2\x80\x9d.

Task description:

We are looking for 2 online volunteers to test, update and maintain the UVS website and eCommerce platform, that serves as a platform to help local farmers supply organic produce using business analytics tools and provide a value chain for linking farmers to consumers and re-connect local communities within Vidarbha on post COVID-19 recovery. 1) Main website: a) One volunteer will maintain and update the current webpage of UVS to realise the following tasks: i. No apparent technical issues will show up ii. The linkage between \xe2\x80\x9cFamily Market Place\xe2\x80\x9d button and eCommerce platform should be established and tested iii. Other new modules such as education equity, climate change etc. will be updated accordingly 2) eCommerce platform: a) One volunteer will work on maintenance of WordPress, WooCommerce and Dokan.

Requirements:

Based on the task assigned, candidates should ideally have the following skills: 1) For main website maintenance: a) Good knowledge of JavaScript development and NodeJS frameworks as well as HTML5 & CSS3. 2) For eCommerce platform update: a) WordPress Administration and Optimization (Tuning) b) Highly experienced with creating WordPress landing pages using Gutenberg Editor (WordPress Block Editor) as well as Elementor c) Knowledge of WordPress plugin development with PHP and/or MySQL is a plus.
