Web Developer

A web developer designs, builds, and maintains websites and web applications. They use programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create the structure and functionality of a website. Responsibilities

Design

: Create the layout of a website's pages, including graphics and user interface

Write code

: Write, test, and document code in programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Optimize

: Optimize websites for speed, performance, and scalability

Troubleshoot

: Troubleshoot and fix bugs in existing projects

Maintain

: Maintain and expand websites, including creating new features and improving existing ones

Collaborate

: Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements

Research

: Research new technologies, frameworks, and languages

Test

: Test new features and applications in different browsers and environments

Document

: Document code so other developers can understand and contribute to it

Responsibilities

Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices Integrate data from various back-end services and databases Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs Create and maintain software documentation Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent

Skills and qualifications

Knowledge of programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Understanding of design and usability concepts Good communication skills Ability to learn and test new technologies Ability to project manage

Web developers may also work on creating content for the site.
