Position Overview

We're seeking a creative and motivated Web Designer Intern with a strong focus on WordPress to join our team in Padi, Chennai. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about web design and eager to gain hands-on experience in building and designing professional websites. The ideal candidate will have basic WordPress knowledge and a keen eye for design, layout, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

WordPress Development & Design

Assist in designing and building WordPress websites from scratch using themes and page builders Customize WordPress themes to match client branding and requirements Work with popular page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, or Gutenberg Install, configure, and customize WordPress plugins for various functionalities Create and optimize landing pages for marketing campaigns Ensure websites are mobile-responsive and function across all devices Perform basic website maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting Optimize website images and media for faster loading times Implement basic on-page SEO elements (meta tags, headings, alt text) Assist in website content updates and management Learn WordPress security best practices and implement basic security measures Conduct quality checks and testing before website launches

Web & UI Design

Design website layouts, mockups, and wireframes using design tools Create web graphics, banners, icons, and visual elements for websites Design user-friendly interfaces with good user experience (UX/UI principles) Ensure visual consistency across all web pages and maintain brand guidelines Create custom graphics and visual assets for WordPress websites Design email templates and newsletter layouts when required

Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Web Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Graphic Design, or related field

Working knowledge of WordPress CMS (MANDATORY)

Experience with at least one WordPress page builder (Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, or Gutenberg)

Basic understanding of HTML and CSS for minor customizations Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Figma for design work Understanding of responsive web design principles Basic knowledge of web hosting, domains, and FTP Good eye for design, layout, typography, and color theory Attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to follow instructions and take feedback constructively Good time management and organizational skills Basic communication skills in English Willingness to learn new tools and technologies

Must own a laptop and bring it to the office daily (MANDATORY)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building personal or academic WordPress websites (portfolio/examples welcome) Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator for creating vector graphics Familiarity with Canva for quick design work Basic understanding of JavaScript or jQuery Knowledge of WooCommerce for e-commerce websites Understanding of website speed optimization techniques Familiarity with SEO best practices for websites Experience with website analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console) Knowledge of cPanel, WHM, or other hosting control panels Understanding of website backup and migration processes Experience with contact form plugins (Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms) Knowledge of website security plugins and practices Any certifications or online courses in WordPress development

Technical Requirements for Laptop

Your laptop should meet minimum specifications:

Processor: Intel i3 (7th gen or higher) / AMD Ryzen 3 or equivalent RAM: Minimum 4GB (8GB recommended for smoother multitasking) Storage: Minimum 256GB (SSD preferred) Operating System: Windows 10/11 or macOS Reliable internet connection capability Sufficient battery backup for a full workday

Compensation & Work Details

Stipend:

?7,000 per month

Location

Office-based internship in Padi, Chennai. Candidates must be able to commute to our Padi office daily.
