Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Application & Costing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role involves preparing detailed electrical cost estimates, designing systems, and selecting components based on design layouts and specifications. You will play a key role in the project bidding process by working closely with design, procurement, and project management teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Analyze tender documents, technical drawings, and specifications to create comprehensive electrical estimates. Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQs), pricing, and cost sheets for Design-Build, EPC, and turnkey projects. Conduct rate analysis and prepare detailed cost breakdowns. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and technical information. Visit project sites (when required) to understand specific requirements and constraints. Ensure estimations align with company margins, quality standards, and client expectations. Assist in value engineering efforts to propose cost-effective alternatives. Compile and submit high-quality technical and commercial proposals within deadlines. Support business development and project teams during the bid and negotiation processes. Handle post-tender queries and coordinate clarifications with stakeholders. Maintain updated databases of material and labor costs, vendor contacts, and estimation tools
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Strong knowledge of electrical systems including HT/LT distribution, power, lighting, ELV, BMS, and fire alarm systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and schematics. Proficient in MS Excel and AutoCAD. Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills. Familiarity with national and international standards (IS, IEC, NEC). Prior exposure to large-scale industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects preferred. Up to 2 years of experience in estimation/tendering within the electrical contracting or EPC domain.
