The Wholesale Debt Market Dealer will be responsible for originating, executing, and managing fixed income transactions across primary and secondary markets. The role requires strong relationships with institutional investors, deep product knowledge across SLR and Non-SLR instruments, and hands-on execution experience across electronic dealing platforms. The position carries direct responsibility for transaction execution, investor engagement, and P&L generation.
Key Responsibilities:
Investor Relationship Management
Build, empanel, and maintain strong working relationships with:
Bank Treasuries (PSU & Private), Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies, Pension & Provident Funds, NBFCs and Family Offices
Conduct regular meetings, follow-up calls, and market updates with existing and prospective investors.
Understand investor mandates, duration appetite, credit preferences, and return expectations.
Fixed Income Dealing & Execution
Execute Primary and Secondary market transactions in line with desk strategy.
Source securities from the secondary market and manage B2B trades efficiently. Handle back-to-back transactions within allocated book size and risk limits.
Negotiate pricing, yield, spreads, documentation terms, and settlement timelines.
Manage end-to-end transaction closure from deal origination to settlement.
Product & Market Expertise. Strong working knowledge of: Government Securities (G-Secs), Non-SLR instruments, Non-SLR instruments, Long-term debt products.
Understand valuation, yield calculations, pricing mechanisms, and market liquidity.
Interpret market movements, yield curve dynamics, and investor feedback.Systems & Platform Proficiency. Active dealing experience on: NDS-OM, RFQ platforms, CBRICS, FTRAC
Familiarity with trading workflows across SLR and Non-SLR asset classes.
Coordinate with empaneled brokers and counterparties for efficient trade execution
Operations & Post-Trade Support: Coordinate closely with Operations and Settlement teams to ensure: Accurate trade confirmation, Timely settlement, Compliance with regulatory and internal processes
Provide post-transaction support to investors, including documentation and clarifications.
Commercial & P&L Ownership
Responsible for P&L generation from sales and distribution activities.
Optimize spreads while maintaining strong client relationships.
Track deal profitability and desk performance metrics.
Qualifications:
MBA / Postgraduate in Management from a reputed institute or
Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience Requirements:
2-5 years of experience in Fixed Income dealing on a Sales & Distribution desk.
Established network with: PFs & Pension Funds, Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies, Banks, SFBs, RRBs, and Cooperative Banks
Proven ability to execute institutional-scale trades independently.
Strong understanding of market conventions, documentation, and compliance norms.
