Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Field Sales Engineer
with a strong background in
industrial water and wastewater treatment plants
. The candidate must have hands-on experience selling solutions such as
ETP, STP, RO/UF plants, ZLD systems, filtration systems, clarifiers, dosing systems, and associated industrial water treatment equipment
.
The role will focus on generating industrial clients in the Chennai-Pondicherry belt and managing complete sales cycles from enquiry to order closure.
Key Responsibilities1. Industrial Sales & Business Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities in
manufacturing, pharma, chemical, food & beverage, textiles, automotive, and heavy industries
.
Promote and sell
industrial-grade water treatment systems
including:
ETP/STP plants
RO/UF/DM plants
ZLD & recycling systems
Clarifiers, filters, softeners, tanks
Dosing pumps & chemical treatment solutions
Conduct plant visits, assess customer requirements, and propose technical solutions.
Drive tender participation, proposal submissions, and commercial negotiations.
2. Territory & Client Management
Manage industrial accounts across
Chennai and Pondicherry
.
Maintain a structured visit plan to meet production heads, utility managers, purchase teams, and plant engineers.
Build strong long-term customer relationships and ensure repeat business.
Track the progress of each enquiry, submit quotations, follow-up aggressively, and achieve monthly revenue targets.
3. Technical Understanding & Coordination
Interpret process flow diagrams (PFD), water quality reports, and system specifications.
Coordinate with engineering/design teams to custom-build industrial solutions.
Provide technical clarifications during meetings, presentations, and site evaluations.
Work closely with the service team for commissioning coordination and post-installation support.
4. Reporting & Market Intelligence
Maintain updated reports on visits, enquiries, competitor activity, and market trends.
Prepare weekly and monthly sales forecasts.
Capture project opportunities across industrial clusters and industrial parks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in
Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering
, or related fields.
Mandatory:
2+ years of experience in
industrial water/wastewater treatment plant sales
.
Strong understanding of industrial water treatment processes like
, and utility water systems.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets in industrial segments.
Proficiency in MS Office & CRM tools.
Must be willing to travel 60-70% of the time.
Preferred Attributes
Existing industrial client network in Chennai-Pondicherry region.
Experience with OEMs, EPC contractors, consultants, and integrators.
Strong problem-solving skills with a technical and commercial mindset.
Self-driven, disciplined, and capable of independently managing the entire sales cycle.
