We are looking for a Warranty Project Engineer to support our Global Project Management team in Business unit Port Cranes. In this position, you will be working with global projects and clients. You will be part of our dynamic team of project experts ready to take care of our projects and customers within our business.

job description:

In this position, you will be responsible for the handling of customer claims. You\'ll collaborate with various stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure smooth execution of warranty projects. You are expected to plan, coordinate, and direct all aspects of the resolution process, including verification, developing a detailed work plan, managing resources, and ensuring that the activities are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Job duties:

  • Customer Support: Act as a point of contact for customers and provide assistance in addressing warranty-related issues or questions. Maintain good customer relations to ensure satisfaction, loyalty for triggering repeat orders.
  • Customer satisfaction: Promptly address warranty-related concerns and provide effective solutions. Engage in customer communication, conduct site visits, and participate in meetings to understand customer needs and expectations.
  • Managing warranty projects: Contribute to managing warranty projects. This includes overseeing the warranty process, ensuring compliance with warranty terms and conditions, and resolving warranty-related issues, receiving and analysing customer claims; initial response within 24 hours
  • Technical support: Possess understanding of port crane products systems and their components. Coordinate with the engineering and product teams and assist in troubleshooting technical problems, analyzing root causes of failures, and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders: Collaborates with various stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure smooth execution of warranty projects. This involves coordinating repair activities, managing spare parts, and communicating updates as needed.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain documentation related to warranty claims, repairs, and associated costs. Prepare reports and analysis on warranty performance, identify trends and areas for improvement. Share insights and findings with relevant stakeholders within the organization.
  • Continuous improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to warranty processes and product quality. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure that lessons learned from warranty claims are integrated into future product designs and improvements. Collaborate with the quality control team in identifying recurrent issues, address design flaws. improve product reliability, and implement preventive measures to reduce warranty claims. Analyze data from warranty claims and customer feedback to identify trends and patterns in equipment failures. Use this data to make informed decisions on improvements and modifications.
  • SAP: Processing and registering notification for claims in SAP. Also notifications related to manufacturers or suppliers to be created as required.
  • Cost Control: Look into the budget, contractual scope and timeline.
  • Risk: Identify and manage warranty project risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Invoice control: Coordinate and verify invoices from KC Service teams and 3rd parties.
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards.
requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree/diploma in relevant field of engineering.
  • Have Project Management experience working for EPC projects.
  • Knowledge of the port crane industry.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Good computer skills and work with SAP, Excel, Word, PPT, etc.
SKILLS:
  • Project Management: Skills in project management to track and manage warranty claims from initiation to resolution. Effective time management to handle multiple warranty claims and tasks simultaneously.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the design, operation, and maintenance of port crane systems. Familiarity with crane components and their functions.
  • Engineering Expertise: Background in mechanical or electrical engineering is advantageous for understanding crane systems.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills to report on warranty claims, resolutions, and findings to internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers professionally and resolve their issues. Capability to handle customer disputes and conflicts in a professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Cost Control: Ability to monitor and control warranty-related costs to minimize expenses for the company.
  • Documentation: Proficiency in maintaining and organizing warranty-related documentation and records.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating with manufacturers or suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective warranty claim resolutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of warranty claims and recommend effective solutions.
  • Quality Control: Ability to identify quality issues and work with the quality control team to improve product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Data Analysis: Competence in data analysis to identify trends and patterns in warranty claims, allowing for data-driven decisions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, purchase and quality control teams to address warranty-related issues and improve product quality.
