Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to manage and scale our Delhi warehouse operations at BookLeaf Publishing. The role requires complete ownership of inventory, stock movement, order fulfillment, dispatch logistics, and warehouse workflows for our growing catalog of 16,000+ titles and 1,200+ monthly book orders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations Management
Full responsibility for daily warehouse operations.
Plan and optimize warehouse layout for space efficiency.
Establish and maintain warehouse SOPs for smooth functioning.
Oversee end-to-end workflow including receiving, storing, processing, and dispatching.
2. Inventory & Stock Control
Maintain accurate records for 16,000+ active SKUs.
Lead cycle counting and routine audits ensuring >99% accuracy.
Monitor stock rotation, identify slow/non-moving books, and manage storage efficiency.
Track inventory metrics: stock-outs, aging stock, turnover rate.
Reconcile physical and system counts and resolve mismatches.
3. Procurement & Restocking
Monitor stock levels and initiate timely purchase requests.
Coordinate with printing vendors (Repro Books, Epitome Books, etc.).
Manage inward logistics including receiving, verification, and system updates.
Establish reorder thresholds based on demand patterns and lead time.
4. Order Processing & Dispatch
Process daily customer orders with 100% accuracy.
Supervise picking, packing, QC checks, and order tracking.
Coordinate with courier partners for reliable and timely deliveries.
Ensure dispatch turnaround of 24-48 hours per order.
5. Vendor & Logistics Coordination
Manage partners including printers, couriers, and suppliers.
Negotiate rates, improve service efficiency, and finalize SLA agreements.
Track vendor performance and ensure smooth operational coordination.
Handle reconciliation of courier bills and related documentation.
6. Reporting & Analytics
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse performance reports.
Track KPIs such as inventory accuracy, dispatch time, fulfillment rate, and stock levels.
Share insights and performance updates directly with the founders.
7. Team Management (Current & Future)
Train warehouse staff and ensure compliance with processes.
Plan manpower allocation during peak workload.
Maintain warehouse safety standards and operational discipline.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
Certification/diploma in Warehouse Management preferred.
Experience
4-6 years of experience managing warehouse operations.
Experience handling 5,000+ SKUs preferred.
Experience in e-commerce, retail, or publishing will be an advantage.
Technical Skills
Working knowledge of Zoho Inventory, Tally, WMS systems.
Advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, analytics).
Familiarity with barcode-based inventory tracking.
Experience with Airtable, Bubble, or ERP tools is a plus.
