To oversee end-to-end yard operations for commercial vehicles, ensuring vehicle health checks, export readiness, stakeholder communication, and P&L accountability. The role demands strategic planning, strong leadership, and operational excellence to maintain yard efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Yard & Vehicle Management
Ensure systematic parking, tracking, and movement of commercial vehicles within the yard
Conduct regular health checks (battery, tyre, fluid levels, etc.) for all parked vehicles
Coordinate with technical teams for preventive maintenance and readiness checks
Monitor vehicle aging and initiate timely actions to avoid deterioration
Warehouse & Export Operations
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including export documentation and compliance
Liaise with export teams to ensure timely dispatches and adherence to international standards
Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile physical vs. system stock
Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for customer teams and internal departments
Provide proactive updates on vehicle status, dispatch schedules, and yard KPIs
Escalate operational bottlenecks with structured solutions and timelines
Team & Vendor Management
Lead a team of yard supervisors, drivers, and support staff with clear KPIs
Conduct regular training and performance reviews to build operational capability
Align third-party vendors for security, housekeeping, and technical services
Financial & P&L Accountability
Monitor and manage the warehouse P&L, including cost control and budget adherence
Optimize resource utilization to reduce overheads and improve margins
Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analysis for leadership review
Qualifications & Skills
Criterian Details
Education
Any Graduate (Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering; MBA preferred)
Experience
7-10 years in warehouse/yard operations, preferably in automotive or export logistics
Strong communication, stakeholder alignment, team leadership
Other
Knowledge of commercial vehicle handling, export compliance, and safety protocols
