The Warehouse Incharge is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe handling, storage, and dispatch of chemicals, polymers, and related materials. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations and hazardous material handling standards, while managing inventory accuracy, space optimization, and timely order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, material handling, and dispatch of chemical and polymer products.
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), and hazardous material handling protocols.
Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, finished goods, and packing materials using ERP/WMS systems.
Monitor storage conditions to ensure product integrity (e.g., temperature, ventilation, chemical compatibility).
Implement FIFO/FEFO practices to avoid product expiration or degradation.
Coordinate with production, procurement, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
Oversee proper labeling, segregation, and safe stacking of chemical goods.
Ensure appropriate use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear by warehouse staff.
Conduct regular safety drills, inspections, and risk assessments.
Maintain records of GRNs, dispatch challans, invoices, and safety checklists.
Supervise warehouse staff, conduct training, and monitor performance and discipline.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
3-5 years of experience managing a warehouse in the chemical, polymer, or manufacturing sector.
Strong knowledge of hazardous materials handling, storage compliance (e.g., OSHA, GHS), and MSDS documentation.
Proficiency in ERP/WMS software and MS Office.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to handle emergency response procedures in case of spills, leaks, or fire incidents.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in hazardous material handling or chemical safety.
Experience with ISO, 5S, and lean warehouse practices.
Familiarity with DG (dangerous goods) transportation documentation and labeling.
Understanding of chemical shelf-life, batch tracking, and quality control basics
