We are seeking a diligent and organized Warehouse Assistant to join our operations team. The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for a variety of warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing products, as well as maintaining the warehouse in an orderly and efficient manner. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspection:
Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damages or discrepancies.
Accurately record received goods in the inventory system.
Storage and Organization:
Store products in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling and accessibility.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
Order Picking and Packing:
Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications.
Pack items securely to prevent damage during transit.
Inventory Management Support:
Assist with regular inventory counts and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
Report any inventory discrepancies or stock issues to the supervisor.
Shipping and Loading:
Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling and loading onto delivery vehicles.
Coordinate with delivery drivers for timely dispatch.
Equipment Operation:
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently (if certified/trained).
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities, including incoming and outgoing goods.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other warehouse staff, delivery drivers, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures.
Basic computer skills for inventory management systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of inventory control best practices.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workloads.
