The Ward Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients admitted in the general ward. The role ensures high-quality patient care, coordination with doctors, maintaining patient records, and supporting overall ward management.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide safe and effective nursing care to all patients in the general ward.
Monitor patient health conditions, record vital signs, and report abnormalities to the doctor.
Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
Assist doctors during rounds and procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports.
Ensure patient hygiene, comfort, and safety at all times.
Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, and transfers.
Educate patients and families on care instructions, medications, and discharge processes.
Manage ward supplies, equipment, and ensure proper sterilization.
Follow hospital protocols, infection control measures, and clinical guidelines.
Respond promptly to emergencies and support critical care when required.
Coordinate with other departments for smooth patient care services.
Qualifications & Requirements
GNM / B.Sc Nursing qualification.
Valid Nursing Registration Certificate.
0-2 years of experience (freshers can also apply depending on hospital policy).
Strong patient care skills and clinical knowledge.
Good communication, teamwork, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work in rotational shifts.
