Job Description

Greeting and seating guests, providing menus, and explaining daily specials. Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions. Providing recommendations and answering questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Serving food and beverages to customers in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation. Anticipating and fulfilling guest needs, such as refilling drinks, offering additional condiments, or providing extra cutlery. Monitoring table cleanliness and promptly clearing dirty dishes and utensils. Processing customer payments, including handling cash transactions and operating point-of-sale systems. Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders. Communicating special requests or modifications to the kitchen, ensuring the accuracy of the prepared dishes. Maintaining knowledge of daily specials, promotions, and any changes in the menu. Upselling menu items and suggesting additional purchases, such as desserts or beverages. Handling guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints professionally and escalating issues to the supervisor or manager when necessary. Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling of food, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and following sanitation procedures. Collaborating with other waitstaff and team members to provide efficient service and support during busy periods. Participating in pre-shift meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills. Requirements: Previous experience as a waitress or in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and work well in a team. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and serving. Knowledge of food and beverage menus, ingredients, and preparation methods. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills for processing payments and giving change. Friendly and positive attitude, with a passion for providing exceptional customer service. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays or heavy plates when required. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
