The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking food and beverage orders, serving guests efficiently, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Service
Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables when required.
Present menus, explain specials, and answer questions about food and beverages.
Take accurate orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar.
Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
Check on guests during meals and ensure satisfaction.
2. Table Management
Set up tables before service (cutlery, glassware, linens).
Clear tables efficiently after guests finish dining.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
Assist in resetting tables for the next guests.
3. Order & Billing Support
Ensure timely delivery of orders and coordinate with kitchen staff.
Assist guests with billing procedures (may handle POS if assigned).
Ensure accuracy of bills and order entries.
4. Customer Interaction
Handle guest complaints politely and inform the Captain/Manager when necessary.
Provide suggestions or upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience.
Maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional attitude at all times.
5. Operational Duties
Follow opening and closing duties as assigned.
Maintain hygiene, grooming, and uniform standards.
Refill water, replenish condiments, and ensure table supplies are always available.
Support team members and assist in other tasks during busy periods.
6. Compliance & Safety
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
Adhere to restaurant policies and service standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a Waiter/Waitress preferred (but not mandatory).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of food and beverages (training will be provided).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
