High school diploma or GED;

technical training or CNC certification

2+ years of experience

operating a VTL or similar CNC vertical lathe. Strong knowledge of programming or editing G-code. Proficient in using precision measurement tools. Ability to read technical drawings and follow work instructions accurately. Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude. Willingness to work

shifts or overtime

, as required. Set up and operate

Mazak VTL machines

, including loading tools and setting work offsets. Read and interpret

blueprints, engineering drawings, and CNC programs

. Ensure parts are machined within

tight tolerances and quality specifications

. Perform routine

machine maintenance and troubleshooting

as needed. Use measuring instruments such as

micrometers, calipers, and gauges

to inspect parts. Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to

feeds, speeds, and tooling

as necessary. Edit G-code programs at the machine when required. Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Work collaboratively with engineers, quality control, and production supervisors.
