Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sr. Manager - VRF System Design Engineer. The role involves end-to-end design, optimization, and validation of VRF systems for light commercial HVAC applications. The candidate will be responsible for refrigeration cycle design, VRF product qualification as per ISO standards, and product customization to meet India-specific business requirements. Responsibilities also include selection of HVAC components, performance simulations, product testing, and close collaboration with sourcing teams and local vendors. The position requires strong project management, engineering change management, and product life cycle control.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and optimize refrigeration and air conditioning cycles

- VRF system design, product performance & qualification as per ISO standards

- Development and localization of HVAC parts with sourcing teams

- Clarify drawings and specifications to local vendors

- Coordinate with global design centers for material/process substitution based on local availability

- Support sourcing teams in validating vendor processes and improving product reliability

- Product customization for India business requirements

- Ensure proper engineering change management and document control

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of refrigeration/air conditioning cycle and VRF system design

- Proficiency in HVAC product testing, performance evaluation, and VAVE

- Experience in product development projects and HVAC product design

- Understanding of VRF & AC ISO standards, and HVAC component selection

- Proficiency in CAD platforms, MBD, and simulation software (including CFD)

- Good understanding of thermal engineering, heat transfer, and thermodynamics

- Conversant with design of HVAC system controls

- Exposure to inverter technology, VRF systems, and product life cycle management tools

- Knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, and machining processes

- Strong project management, documentation, and engineering change process skills
