Job Description

Job Purpose
To represent the IBU as designated delegate with the with IFSCA or any other regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
Representing / assisting the CEO
Activity:

  • To represent the IBU as designated delegate with the with IFSCA or any other regulatory bodies
  • Representing Bank IBU at the IBA GIFT City Sectoral committee meetings in case of absence of CEO and meeting representatives from other banks, discussion on exploring opportunities, Collaboration etc.
  • Be well versed with the regulatory changes and its potential impact, related impacts on the product offerings and business operating. Laise with internal compliance team and respective stakeholders for effective implementation to support CEO's responsibility as senior management of the branch.
  • GIFTCity is an evolving jurisdiction with the regulator continuously introducing new regulations, products and services. Recent examples are initiatives taken on Internet banking, CCIL's FCSS platform, GSec trading etc., while such regulation and developments may fall outside the purview of the branch, however the IBU is required to adapt and ensure compliance. This currently falls within the remit of the CEO.
  • Ensure regulatory reporting with accuracy and in timebound manner including ad-hoc requirements from IFSCA.
  • Assist CEO in discharging his responsibilities as Senior Management in terms of IFSCA banking handbooks.
  • Assist CEO in discharging his responsibility as a principal officer for various licenses under Capital Market, Bullion Regulations, Insurance regulations, including assisting CEO in his role as designated director with FIU India.
  • Any other meetings with consultants, Peers, ancillary business etc.
Policy:
  • IBU has implemented various policies for the branch. However, certain policies like ESG, Public Disclosure Policy etc is overseen by the CEO. Additionally, even in policies taken up by the respective functions the responsibilities like confirmation, implementation, oversight and compliance falls within the remit of the CEO. To ensure better operational efficiency these activities can be appropriately assigned to the Deputy Branch Head.
Coordinator:
  • As most of the wholesale business groups are not physically present in GIFTCity and manage their respective client remotely, senior level meetings within GIFT IFSC or during client visit to GIFT are led by the CEO, despite the business not directly falling under CEO's remit. A portion of these responsibilities can be delegated to the deputy Branch Head.
Governing Body:
  • Assist CEO in effective conduct of Governing Body meeting, including but not limited to coordinating with other business, risk, treasury and related functions for their inputs, preparation of presentation, follow up for ATR, minutes of meeting from secretarial team etc
  • Drive implementation of Governing body's instructions, recommendations and coordinating with concerned stake holders.
Customer meetings / Market Feedback:
  • Since most of the whole sale business groups are not present in GIFT City and manage their clientele remotely, the senior level meeting within IFSC or when customer visit GIFT City is undertaken by CEO, though he not directly responsible for this business.
  • In terms of market feedback , the CEO currently engages with peer banks to gain insight into their products and services and provides feedback to respective business groups and product teams. Additionally, CEO also provides feedback on regulatory developments and evolving stance of IFSCA to the Bank. The Deputy Branch Head can support CEO in these activities.
Audit & Compliance:
  • Assist the CEO in effectively reviewing and responding promptly to audit findings, assigning responsibility to the stakeholders.
  • Ensure corrective action and implementation of suggestion given by Audit /compliance team are undertaken by the stakeholders.
  • Perform necessary actions in CERMO and task central including OAOT for submitting responses from the branch.
Overseeign all activities:
  • Monitor Branch activity. Provide inputs and clarifications to Ops team, RMs, customers etc. Monitoring expenses. Review of pending register. Account opening process, verification of account opening forms. Ensuring Customer complaint redressal, Ensure renewal of licenses.
Overseeing Admin:
Ensuring overall smooth functioning of the branch in terms of adequate infrastructure, liaise with Admin, Infra teams, lessor of the building wherever required.
Key Skills:
  • Proven track record in Wealth Management covering local & offshore markets.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet analysis, financial management and trade finance products.
  • Strong track record of client acquisition and revenue generation.
  • Experience in handling of HNW/UHNW customers who will be Accredited Investors.
  • Experience in corporate account management and product suite.
  • Sound knowledge of Wealth Management products.
  • Strong network of client referral channels.
  • Good understanding of local compliance and regulatory requirements
