Job Description


Key responsibilities include:

Strategic communications and partnership building

  • Develop and execute a strategic public relations plan that supports business priorities, the firm\'s cultural values and helps to drive outcomes for the Corporate Centers in India. This includes earned and paid media strategies across all media platforms, including news organizations and social channels.
  • Ensure Company brand and messaging consistency through impactful, innovative and engaging content, highlighting innovative initiatives on relevant channels (including but not limited to employer brand, social and thought leadership opportunities).
  • Serve as strategic counsel to senior executives and stakeholders on communications-related matters.
  • Partner with multiple stakeholders across regional, global, business and corporate function teams to deliver aligned strategies and messaging.
Deliver compelling content

  • Develop a key messaging framework and curate content for external storytelling against identified goals.
  • Writing high-quality and compelling content, including press releases, thought leadership articles, announcements, executive speeches, talking points, scripts and other communication tools for senior managers for a broad range of channels including events and social media.
  • Where appropriate, proactively pitch journalists for earned media coverage in top tier news outlets.
  • Partner with global teams to design and deliver firm-aligned content for external audiences including digital and multimedia storytelling techniques, such as video, and other digital content.
  • Design and maintain a corporate toolkit and asset library for JPMorgan Chase Corporate Centers in India.
  • Support issue management to protect and enhance the reputation of the Company
Delivery and measurement

  • Design and implement a robust external communication operating framework, processes and governance across the Corporate Centers in India.
  • Develop metrics that facilitate analyzing effectiveness of communications strategy
Core Competencies

  • 15 - 20 years of work experience, with at least six years recent hands-on experience in managing external communications for a large organization
  • This person must be a tested, strategic leader with the capacity to operate at the highest levels of business while remaining hands-on and team oriented
  • Must have excellent judgment and a good understanding of messages that can be shared publicly, as well as when and where.
  • Bring deep media relations and issues management experience along with a network of trusted external relationships including with journalists and other relevant stakeholders. This person should have recent experience proactively pitching news media.
  • Demonstrated strong competencies of traditional, digital and social channels.
  • Self-driven and motivated with strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently as well as partnering with and managing multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Can-do, entrepreneurial attitude, speed, agility and an ability to deliver to high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superb written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding judgment, problem-solving ability and resourcefulness.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects.

Desired
  • Strong understanding of how to manage communications in a heavily regulated, highly scrutinized environment. This person should understand financial services and issues facing global banks.
  • Ability to execute in high-profile settings and work behind-the-scenes to support senior leaders and execute in a global, smart and fast-paced organization.
  • Versatility in executing various writing styles and voices, including journalistic and executive writing
  • Creative mindset and ability to generate new ideas.
