About this role:





Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant to join the Global Payments & Liquidity Analytics team. This individual contributor role is ideal for a seasoned analytics professional who excels in both data engineering and analytical insight generation. The role will support strategic initiatives across the GPL business, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with correspondent banking.



GPL Analytics team develops, manages and Insights and Reports for various units of GPL business groups, providing both qualitative & quantitative analytical support. This includes designing, developing and implementing and mission-critical business intelligence and tools in collaboration with cross-functional teams.



Deeply embedded within GPL business teams and internal partners, the team ensures direct alignment with business objectives, driving data-driven decision making and strategic impacts.



In this role, you will:

Advise line of business and companywide functions on business strategies based on research of performance metrics, trends in population distributions, and other complex data analysis to maximize profits and asset growth, and minimize operating losses within risk and other operating standards Provide influence and leadership in the identification of new tools and methods to analyze data Ensure adherence to compliance and legal regulations and policies on all projects managed Provide updates on project logs, monthly budget forecasts, monthly newsletters, and operations reviews Assist managers in building quarterly and annual plans and forecast future market research needs for business partners supported Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor to staff, interns and external contractors

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

Perform advanced data analysis to uncover insights related to liquidity management, client behavior, payment flows, and revenue opportunities. Design and build scalable data pipelines and integrate large datasets from multiple systems (e.g., Oracle, Teradata, SQL). Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to support decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Sales, Finance, and Technology to deliver impactful analytics solutions. Ensure data governance and compliance with regulatory and internal policy standards. Automate reporting processes to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency. Translate complex data into clear, actionable business narratives. Support pricing, forecasting, client profitability, and liquidity optimization initiatives. Monitor KPIs and campaign metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, leadership experience and strategic decision making to drive impactful insights

Job Expectations:

5+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or a related field. Bachelor's or advanced degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics. Strong command of SQL and proficiency in Python, R, or similar tools. Expertise in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau. Experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources. Excellent communication and storytelling skills. Experience in payments, liquidity, or treasury services. Familiarity with correspondent banking operations and risk frameworks. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Experience in documentation standards and process repeatability.
