(minimum 2-5 years) to design, implement, maintain, and optimize our VoIP infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in SIP, RTP, VoIP protocols, and enterprise-grade telephony systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering highly reliable and scalable VoIP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain VoIP systems, including SIP trunks, PBXs, SBCs, and call center platforms.
Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize VoIP endpoints, gateways, and carrier connections.
Ensure high availability, QoS, and minimal latency across voice networks.
Manage call routing, number provisioning, and DID inventory.
Integrate VoIP systems with CRM, IVR, call recording, and reporting tools.
Monitor system performance, perform capacity planning, and handle escalated VoIP issues.
Conduct regular security audits and implement safeguards (TLS/SRTP, firewall policies).
Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and diagrams.
Work with vendors and carriers to resolve complex issues and optimize service.
Stay current with VoIP technologies, emerging protocols, and compliance standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of hands-on experience
with VoIP engineering or administration.
Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, SDP, VoIP codecs, and NAT traversal.
Experience with platforms such as Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio/OpenSIPS, 3CX, or Cisco Call Manager.
Familiarity with Session Border Controllers (SBCs) and carrier SIP trunks.
Expertise in troubleshooting VoIP call flows using tools like Wireshark.
Good understanding of network fundamentals (VLANs, QoS, firewalls, VPNs).
Knowledge of VoIP security practices and compliance requirements.
Scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) are a plus.
Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
Cloud-based VoIP experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP telephony services).
Experience with CPaaS, WebRTC, or custom SIP app development.
Understanding of PSTN interconnect and international call routing.
Certifications (e.g., CCNP Collaboration, SIP School SSCA) are highly desirable.
