plays a very important role in patient rehabilitation. Their main goal is to help patients gain practical skills, confidence, and independence so they can reintegrate into society or the workforce. Here's a clear breakdown for you:
Role of a Vocational Trainer in a Psychiatric Hospital1. Skill Development
Teach patients basic vocational skills (tailoring, handicrafts, gardening, computer skills, cooking, etc.) depending on their abilities and interests.
Provide structured training programs tailored to different levels of functioning.
2. Rehabilitation Support
Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and occupational therapists to create individualized rehabilitation plans.
Encourage patients to use their skills as part of therapy and recovery.
3. Social & Work Readiness
Improve patients' communication, time management, and teamwork abilities.
Prepare them for possible employment, sheltered workshops, or self-employment.
4. Emotional & Confidence Building
Motivate patients through positive reinforcement.
Help them build self-esteem by completing tasks and creating usable products.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain progress records of patients.
