Job Summary

:

We are looking for a skilled

VMC Setter cum Operator

to set up and operate VMC machines efficiently to produce high-precision components as per drawings and quality standards. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in machine setting, tool selection, offset adjustments, and quality inspection using measuring instruments.

Key Responsibilities

:

Set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) according to job orders and engineering drawings. Understand and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and machining symbols. Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters for the job. Perform tool setting, workpiece setting, and zero offset adjustments. Conduct first-piece inspection and ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, etc.). Perform in-process inspection and adjust machine settings as needed to maintain quality. Maintain machine cleanliness and basic preventive maintenance. Collaborate with the quality team for final inspection and troubleshooting. Report any abnormalities in machine performance or tool wear. Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

:

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant trade. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in VMC machine operation and setting. Knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controllers (based on machine type). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Good understanding of machining processes and materials. Skilled in using measuring instruments for quality checks. Willingness to work in shifts if required.

Preferred Skills

:

Experience with basic VMC programming/editing (optional but preferred). Knowledge of fixture designing or improvements. Basic troubleshooting of machine or tool issues.
