Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced

VMC Setter cum Operator

to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to produce precision components according to technical drawings, quality standards, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup:

Set up VMC machines with the correct tools, jigs, and fixtures based on engineering drawings or work orders. Load CNC programs and make necessary parameter adjustments. Perform tool offset and wear compensation as needed.

Operation:

Operate the VMC machine to manufacture components to required tolerances. Monitor the machining process and make real-time adjustments for optimal performance. Inspect first-off and in-process parts using precision measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, etc.).

Quality Assurance:

Ensure components meet dimensional and surface finish requirements. Record inspection results and report any deviations or defects to the quality control team or supervisor.

Maintenance and Safety:

Perform basic preventive maintenance and cleaning of the machine. Ensure work area is kept clean and organized. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

Collaboration:

Coordinate with CNC programmers, quality inspectors, and production supervisors. Support in training junior operators when needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

BE / ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience operating and setting VMC machines.
