VMC Setter cum Operator

to set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) for the production of precision components. The ideal candidate should have experience in machine setting, tool offsetting, and production operations as per engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up VMC machines with required tools, fixtures, and materials. Load CNC programs and make necessary tool offsets and adjustments. Interpret and understand engineering drawings, job orders, and quality standards. Operate the VMC machine to produce components as per specifications. Conduct in-process inspection using measuring instruments (e.g., Vernier, micrometer, height gauge). Ensure component quality and surface finish meet required tolerances. Perform machine changeovers and assist in minor troubleshooting. Maintain daily production reports and job records. Ensure adherence to safety procedures and cleanliness in the work area. Report any machine or tool issues to the maintenance or engineering team. ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Machinist / Tool & Die / Production or related trade. 2-5 years of hands-on experience in VMC machine setting and operation. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings (2D). Familiarity with CNC control systems Experience in tool setting, offset adjustment, and basic program modification. Good understanding of machining parameters (feeds, speeds, depth of cut) Knowledge of basic G-code and M-code. Experience in batch production or custom part machining. Exposure to different materials like steel, aluminum, and cast iron. Understanding of quality management systems (ISO/TS standards).
