VMC Programmer

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

VMC Programmer

to develop, optimize, and execute CNC programs for precision-machined components. The role involves programming, setup support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure high-quality output, dimensional accuracy, and on-time delivery in line with customer and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities Programming & Machining

Develop CNC programs for

Vertical Machining Centers (VMC)

using

G-code / CAM software

. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications accurately. Optimize machining cycles for productivity, tool life, and surface finish. Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies. Support machine setup and first-off approval on the shop floor.
Quality & Process Control

Ensure components meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards. Work closely with

CMM / inspection team

to resolve dimensional issues. Perform root cause analysis for machining-related non-conformances. Maintain proper documentation for programs, tooling, and process sheets.
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework. Support new product development (NPD), trials, and process validation. Assist in standardization of machining practices and best methods.
Coordination & Compliance

Coordinate with production, quality, and planning teams for smooth execution. Follow

ISO / customer-specific quality systems and safety procedures

. Maintain machine discipline, housekeeping, and 5S practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of

VMC programming (Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi - as applicable)

Experience with

CAM software

(Mastercam / Fusion 360 / NX / equivalent) - preferred Good understanding of

GD&T, fits & tolerances

Familiarity with tooling, cutting parameters, and fixtures
Education

Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience

Atleast 5-10 years

of hands-on experience in VMC programming and machining Experience in

precision components

for automotive, aerospace, railway, or industrial sectors preferred
