Minimum 6 Year Exp as VMC Programmer

Job Title:

VMC Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

1. VMC Programming & Process Development

Prepare, modify, and optimize CNC programs for VMC machines. Develop machining strategies to meet quality and productivity targets. Proficient in Mastercam programming. Record machine output and implement actions to improve productivity.

2. VMC Machine Operation & Technical Support

Hands-on experience in operating VMC machines. Support machine setters and operators during setup and production runs. Troubleshoot machining issues related to programs, tooling, and processes.

3. Cutting Tool & Rotating Tool Management

Select and manage VMC rotating tools (end mills, drills, inserts, cutters, etc.). Define cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut) for optimal performance. Ensure effective utilization and extended life of cutting tools.

4. Productivity & Cost Optimization

Reduce cycle time through program and process optimization. Improve machine utilization and runtime efficiency. Reduce tooling costs through standardization and optimized usage.

5. Cutting Parameter Optimization

Optimize cutting parameters for different materials and operations. Balance quality, tool life, and productivity while ensuring machine safety. Implement best practices to minimize scrap and rework.

6. Quality & Process Control

Ensure machining processes meet dimensional and surface finish requirements. Support first-off approval and process capability improvement. Maintain consistency in production quality through controlled programs.

7. Training & Team Development

Train setters and operators on programs, tooling, and machining practices. Share best practices to improve shop-floor performance.

8. Documentation & MS Office Usage

Prepare and maintain program sheets, tool lists, and process documents. Use MS Office for reporting, analysis, and presentations. Maintain revision control and proper documentation of changes.

9. Safety & Compliance

Follow and promote safe machining practices. Ensure compliance with safety and company standards. Support housekeeping and discipline on the shop floor.
