Key responsibilities

Study and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, 3D models, and GD&T to define machining strategy, tools, and coordinates.? Develop CNC programs (G-code/M-code, or via CAM software) for VMC, including toolpaths, cutting parameters, and sequence of operations.? Set up VMC machines for trials or production: workpiece clamping, tool setting, work and tool offsets, and verification of program data.? Run trial cuts, troubleshoot alarms or dimensional issues, and optimize cycle time, tool life, and surface finish.? Perform in?process and final inspection using calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc., and ensure parts meet quality and safety standards.? Maintain program documentation, setup sheets, tooling lists, and support production/maintenance teams when issues arise.?
Typical skills and qualifications

Diploma/degree in Mechanical or related trade with experience in CNC/VMC programming and machining processes.? Strong knowledge of G-code/M-code, VMC controls (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Haas, etc.), and CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Powermill, etc.).? Ability to read complex drawings, apply GD&T, select tools/fixtures, and decide feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for different materials.? Practical skills in VMC setup/operation, problem?solving on shop floor, and basic preventive maintenance of machines.
