Job Description

The VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining VMC machines to produce precision parts and components according to engineering specifications. This role requires a high degree of technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

Operate VMC machines to perform milling, drilling, and tapping operations. Load raw materials into the machine and secure workpieces. Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and precision.

Programming:

Input and edit machine program settings as required for specific jobs. Understand and interpret G-code and M-code programming.

Quality Control:

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Identify and troubleshoot defects or production issues.

Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of VMC machines. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate production records, including job sheets and machine logs. Complete inspection reports and maintain quality control documentation.

Safety:

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Ensure a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in CNC machining or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of [3-10] years of experience operating VMC or CNC machines. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
