ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Study and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models

to understand component geometry, tolerances, and machining requirements. Check whether the part come out from the machine on

Cycle Time.

Plan to reduce

the cycle time of a part.

Prepare VMC programs

for Vertical Machining Centers using CAD/CAM software or manual G-code programming.

Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and fixtures

based on job requirements and material type.

Set up tooling and work offsets

on the VMC machine for first-piece trial runs.

Simulate and verify tool paths

in CAM software to avoid collisions and ensure correct machining operations.

Optimize cutting parameters

(speed, feed, depth of cut) for improved surface finish and reduced cycle time.

Load and prove out programs

on the machine; make adjustments as needed during the first component run.

Inspect first-off parts

using precision measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, etc.).

Modify and fine-tune VMC programs

based on dimensional corrections or operator feedback.

Prepare setup sheets and tooling lists

for operators to follow during production.

Coordinate with production and quality teams

to ensure smooth workflow and product conformance.

Maintain program backups

and organize them by job number or part code for future reference.

Assist in operator training

for new programs and machine operations.
