VMC Operator

Job Purpose:

To operate and monitor the Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machine to produce precision components as per the given drawing and quality standards, ensuring timely completion of production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate VMC machines according to job requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job instructions. Load raw materials and ensure correct tool setup in the machine. Operate control panels and input machining programs (Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi or relevant controls). Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy. Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, etc.). Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, and routine checks. Identify and report machine or tool malfunctions to supervisors. Achieve daily production targets while minimizing rework and rejection. Follow safety guidelines and company policies.

Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge of VMC machine operation and CNC controls. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Hands-on experience with measuring instruments. Basic knowledge of cutting tools, offsets, and machining processes. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Good teamwork and communication skills.

Qualification & Experience:

ITI / Diploma in Machinist / Fitter / Mechanical or relevant field. 5 years of experience in VMC operation (Fresher with technical knowledge may also be considered).

Work Environment:

Workshop / Machine shop environment. Requires standing for long hours and handling materials. Safety equipment (helmet, shoes, gloves) to be worn during work.

Pay: ?18,527.48 - ?22,000.00 per month
