Job Description

Responsibilities:

Operation of VMCs:

Set up, operate, and maintain Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

CNC Programming:

Interpret and implement CNC programs (G-code and M-code) to machine complex parts.

Program Editing:

Modify and optimize existing CNC programs to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Tooling Selection and Setup:

Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices for various machining operations.

Dimensional Inspection:

Perform precise dimensional inspections using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to ensure parts meet specifications.

Quality Control:

Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy throughout the machining process.

Machine Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on VMCs, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.

Troubleshooting:

Identify and resolve machining problems, including tool wear, program errors, and material issues.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of machine setups, tool changes, and inspection results.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

Collaboration:

Work closely with toolroom engineers and other team members to achieve production goals.

Blueprint Interpretation:

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.

Qualifications:

Education:

Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related field.

Experience:

Must have experience in VMC Operator in toolroom jobs

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in operating and setting up VMCs. Strong knowledge of CNC programming Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.) is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of various cutting tools and machining techniques. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of various materials and their machinability.

Strong attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Fanuc, Hass, Jyothi, Ace VMC machine Experience with tool pre-setting.
