Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and machining requirements.
Set up VMC machines (tooling, fixtures, offsets, work holding, job alignment).
Select proper tools, cutters, inserts, and tool holders.
Load and verify machining programs (Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controllers).
Perform trial runs, prove-out programs, and adjust offsets.
Ensure first-piece approval before production.
Optimize machining parameters to improve quality and reduce cycle time.
VMC Operating Responsibilities
Operate VMC machines independently as per production plan.
Measure components using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
Maintain dimensional accuracy according to drawing tolerance.
Monitor tool wear and replace tools when required.
Inspect machined parts and record quality results.
Follow safety and ISO/5S standards on the shop floor.
Perform routine machine maintenance (coolant level, lubrication, cleaning).
Complete daily production reports.
