The Visual Manager is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing visual merchandising strategies to enhance the customer experience and maximize sales. The role ensures that apparel stores adhere to brand guidelines and standards while creating an attractive, engaging shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Visual Merchandising Strategy:
Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies aligned with the brand's aesthetic and promotional calendar.
Ensure that product displays, window presentations, and in-store setups are consistently update to attract customers.
Store Layout & Design:
Design and execute store layouts, including mannequins, fixtures, signage, and product arrangements, to optimize customer flow and engagement.
Coordinate seasonal changes, product launches, and promotional displays.
Brand Guidelines Compliance:
Ensure that stores strictly follow the company's visual merchandising standards and guidelines.
Work closely with the marketing and design teams to translate brand guidelines into in-store experiences.
Team Management:
Train, develop, and manage store staff on visual merchandising techniques and standards.
Coordinate with store managers to ensure proper execution of visual merchandising strategies.
Sales Performance & Reporting:
Analyse store performance related to visual merchandising efforts and provide reports on the effectiveness of displays.
Collaborate with store teams to ensure merchandising contributes to sales goals.
Competitor Analysis & Trends:
Monitor competitor visual merchandising efforts and stay updated with industry trends to keep displays fresh and competitive.
Incorporate new trends and innovative display techniques to enhance customer engagement.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the buying, marketing, and retail operations teams to ensure merchandising strategies align with stock availability and sales promotions.
Coordinate with regional or area managers for consistent store standards across multiple locations.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of visual merchandising principles, techniques, and tools.
Creative flair with a strong eye for design, colour, and layout.
Ability to translate brand identity into effective visual merchandising displays.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence and manage store staff.
Proficient in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
Analytical mind-set to evaluate merchandising performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Design, Retail Management, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience in visual merchandising, mandatory within the apparel retail sector.
Proven record of accomplishment of managing visual displays across multiple store locations.
Working Conditions:
Must be willing to travel to various store locations as needed.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the needs of the store.
