Role description

We are seeking an experienced

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Architect

to lead and shape our

VDI and Cloud Desktop service offerings

. This role requires a unique blend of

strategic vision, presales expertise, and hands-on delivery leadership

. You will be responsible for defining solution standards, guiding client engagements, and ensuring successful implementations of platforms such as

Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD), Amazon WorkSpaces, and AppStream 2.0

.



This is not just a presales role--you will be a

trusted advisor and delivery leader

, taking ownership of the service line from concept through go-live.

Key Responsibilities

1. Practice Leadership & Capability Building

Define and evolve the

VDI service catalog

across Azure, Citrix, and Amazon platforms. Build

reference architectures, deployment templates, and automation playbooks

for scalable delivery. Establish

technical standards and governance frameworks

in alignment with cloud, security, and network teams. Act as the

practice lead

in client and internal forums. Mentor architects, engineers, and operations teams to

uplift technical maturity

.

2. Presales & Solution Design

Lead solution architecture for

RFPs, RFIs, and proactive client proposals

. Conduct

discovery workshops

to assess client environments, user personas, and application landscapes. Develop

high-level designs, cost models, and Bill of Materials (BoMs)

. Present solutions to

executives, IT leaders, and technical stakeholders

. Lead

proof-of-concept and pilot programs

to validate solution designs.

3. Technical Delivery & Oversight

Guide delivery teams throughout

design, build, and deployment phases

. Define and manage

golden/master image lifecycles

across platforms. Implement

profile management strategies

using FSLogix, Citrix UPM, or Amazon WorkDocs. Provide

design reviews, technical governance, and readiness checks

. Ensure secure, performant, and compliant deployments in partnership with infrastructure teams. Drive observability and performance tuning with

AVD Insights, Azure Monitor, Citrix Director, AWS CloudWatch

, etc.

4. Governance & Service Quality

Define and monitor

SLAs and KPIs

for VDI services. Align solutions with

zero-trust security principles, compliance requirements, and operational standards

. Develop

runbooks, SOPs, and transition documentation

to ensure operational readiness. Champion

continuous improvement

through metrics, incident reviews, and user feedback.

Required Skills & Experience

Multi-Platform VDI Expertise

: Proven experience with

AVD, Citrix CVAD, Amazon WorkSpaces/AppStream

, Nerdio, and Browser Islands in enterprise environments.

Practice Development

: Ability to create

service offerings, monitoring solutions, reference architectures, and governance models

.

Presales & Solutioning

: Skilled in client engagement, requirement gathering, and developing

winning proposals

.

Profile & Image Management

: Deep expertise with

FSLogix, Citrix UPM, Amazon WorkDocs

, and image lifecycle management.

Monitoring & Optimization

: Proficiency in

Azure Monitor, Citrix Director, AWS CloudWatch, ThousandEyes

for diagnostics and performance tuning.

Collaboration

: Successful track record working with

cloud, network, identity, and security teams
