Responsibilities

Footage Review:

Analyzing raw material to select the best takes based on the director's vision and scene value.

Assembly & Editing:

Trimming, splicing, and arranging clips into a logical and engaging sequence (the "rough cut") and fine-tuning for the final version.

Audio Integration:

Synchronizing dialogue and adding music, sound effects, and voiceovers to enhance the emotional impact.

Visual Enhancement:

Applying transitions, colour correction, and motion graphics to improve the production quality.

Asset Management:

Organizing and archiving digital video files, naming conventions, and project folders to maintain a smooth workflow.

Collaboration:

Working closely with directors, producers, and marketing teams to ensure the content meets brand guidelines and project goals.

Required Technical Skills

Post-Production Effects:

Skill in using

After Effects

for motion graphics and

Photoshop

for graphic overlays.

Technical Knowledge:

Understanding of video formats, codecs, aspect ratios, and compression for various platforms like YouTube, TV, or social media.

Storytelling:

The ability to weave disparate clips into a compelling narrative with proper pacing.

Attention to Detail:

Meticulousness in spotting continuity errors, audio sync issues, or visual glitches.

Qualification :

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, Media Communications, or a related field is often preferred.

Portfolio:

A professional showreel or portfolio demonstrating a range of editing styles and technical proficiency.
