Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and creative Video Editor to transform raw footage and multimedia elements into engaging, polished video content for StoryMirror's various platforms (social media, YouTube, website, short movies). The ideal candidate is a visual storyteller with a strong sense of pacing, rhythm, and a passion for literature and creative content.

Key Responsibilities

Edit Content:

Assemble raw footage, audio, graphics, and special effects into a finished video product that aligns with the creative vision and brand guidelines.

Visual Storytelling:

Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that creates a seamless, cohesive, and emotionally engaging narrative, particularly for literary or story-driven content.

Post-Production:

Execute all aspects of post-production, including: Trimming, splicing, and sequencing content. Inputting music, dialogue, sound effects, and voiceovers (syncing audio with video). Applying color correction, color grading, and visual enhancements. Designing and implementing motion graphics, lower-thirds, and titles.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the content, marketing, and production teams (directors/producers) to understand project scope, objectives, and deliver final cuts based on feedback.

Asset Management:

Organize and maintain a library of video and audio assets, ensuring efficient workflow and easy retrieval.

Optimization:

Ensure final videos are correctly formatted and optimized for various distribution channels, including YouTube, Instagram Reels, and other social platforms.

Innovation:

Stay up-to-date with new editing technologies, industry trends, and continuously discover new ways to improve production quality and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven work experience (e.g.,2+ years) as a Video Editor or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse editing styles. AI expertise will be preferred. Expert proficiency in industry-standard editing software, particularly

Adobe Premiere Pro

and

Adobe After Effects

. Solid knowledge of post-production processes, including video compression, codecs, formats, and sound design principles. Excellent storytelling instincts, pacing, and an eye for visual composition and continuity. Ability to perform simple motion graphics and basic VFX. Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Media Production, Communication, or a related field is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

DaVinci Resolve

for advanced color grading. Experience in creating video content specifically for a literary, arts, or publishing platform. Knowledge of different regional Indian languages is a benefit. Experience with studio lighting, camera operation, and audio recording is a bonus.

Pay: ₹10,409.31 - ₹36,578.91 per month
