We're looking for a bar-raiser Video Editor to join us. You are knowledgeable yet open to new ideas, and the thought of a messy Premiere project enrages you. We push the boundaries every day and are looking for someone who wants to do the same.
Our ideal candidate above all else, will need to be adaptable and thrive under pressure. If a candidate wants to exceed our expectations, they will obsess over marrying their knowledge and skill set into our culture and content formats.
The Video Editor will work primarily on building out the longform content engine. This will involve working on assets like podcasts & interview-styled formats.
The Video Editor is key to bringing big ideas to life. They are internet savants, storytellers, scientists, and conduits for all things trending. While they are creatively inspired by their surroundings, they must also have a unique ability to understand the business impact content has.
Our ideal candidate for this role will have a duality to their personality. They will be limitless in idea generation and also need to be able to work within our proven video formats. This position will have a huge learning curve, creating content watched by the top 1% leaders, founders, investors & operators from the startup ecosystem.
What you'll be doing?
Be obsessed with retention on video
Understand nuances of designing hooks + picking best bits from an interview
Understand video flow and story structures in depth
Craft longform edits that are smooth to consume
Work daily with Producers and Writer to create an end to end content pipeline: from pre-production (scripting, storyboarding), production (shooting, set design) to post-production
Turn ideas into action while incorporating the GrowthX brand into all elements
Edit longform videos + repurpose them for other social platforms
Be creative yet systematic in your approach to delivering great work
Some visual and writing references that we closely relate with on longform are Vox & Masterclass**.** This does not mean we hate other creators. We like the way they depict the form & function while making sure it's educational. We have strong views of what is great quality content & matching the sense of taste in the team.
We strongly believe education is a business of trust. Great writing builds trust and perceived value above all. We want our writing to be the benchmark across media companies (think Vox, Netflix, Masterclass ) of the world.
Requirements
Recently completed a degree/diploma in Film, Media, Design, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects is a plus).
Strong sense of storytelling, rhythm, and pacing.
Familiarity with social media formats (YouTube, Reels, Shorts, LinkedIn).
Basic understanding of color grading, sound mixing, and motion graphics.
Curiosity to learn about startups, founders, and business storytelling.
Ability to take feedback constructively and improve rapidly.
Must be based in Bengaluru or willing to work from our Creative Studio.

If you have read other Jobs that we are hiring for, you must already know that we are building a Creative Studio at GrowthX (in Bengaluru). This role would require you to be in BLR working with video editors of the creative team.
This role for Video Editor will have ownership to build the longform content pipeline at GrowthX.
Initially, you will build and scale current IPs. But, eventually will transition to owning and creating multiple IPs.
The Video Editor will own core metrics like retention and will have a direct revenue impact.
