Vice Principal

Position Summary



The Vice Principal serves as the academic and administrative backbone of the school, assisting the Principal in all areas of planning, supervision, and execution. The role demands strong leadership, discipline, and people management skills to ensure excellence in academics, staff performance, student welfare, and institutional operations.

Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership



Oversee the implementation of the academic calendar, lesson plans, and assessment schedules. Supervise the quality of teaching and learning across all grades. Ensure timely completion of syllabus and adherence to CBSE/NEP guidelines. Conduct classroom observations, mentor teachers, and ensure effective teaching methodologies. Review student performance and initiate remedial or enrichment programs. Promote innovation, activity-based learning, and digital education practices.

2. Staff Management



Lead, guide, and motivate teachers and support staff to achieve academic excellence. Conduct regular staff meetings, classroom audits, and feedback sessions. Support the recruitment, training, and performance appraisal of staff. Maintain discipline, punctuality, and work ethics among all departments.

3. Student Discipline & Welfare



Maintain decorum, discipline, and positive behavior across the school. Address student-related concerns, conflicts, and behavioral issues with empathy and firmness. Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages student participation in co-curricular and sports activities. Ensure the safety, hygiene, and emotional well-being of all students.

4. Administration & Coordination



Assist the Principal in overseeing daily operations -- attendance, timetable, examinations, and events. Coordinate between academic, administrative, transport, and maintenance teams for smooth functioning. Supervise school assemblies, functions, and competitions. Prepare and review academic reports, progress cards, and performance summaries.

5. Parent & Community Relations



Build and maintain strong communication channels with parents and guardians. Conduct parent-teacher meetings, orientations, and open houses. Represent the school in inter-school, district, and board-level activities or inspections.

6. Compliance & Quality Assurance



Ensure adherence to CBSE norms, NEP 2020 framework, and safety standards. Prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and affiliations. Collaborate with the Principal and management for continuous school improvement plans.

Qualifications



Postgraduate in Education (M.Ed. or equivalent) or related field. Minimum 8-10 years of teaching experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Strong understanding of CBSE/NEP policies, pedagogy, and school operations. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
