We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.Job PurposeDBS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Finance team as a Financial Reporting, Financial Accounting, and Projects Specialist. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine expertise in accounting under IFRS / India Local accounting and project management within a dynamic financial institution.



The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, understanding local RBI regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a ability to manage financial projects from inception to completion.Key Accountabilities and Job responsibilitiesFinancial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards (e.g.IFRS) and regulatory guidelines (local RBI regulations and IFRS). Generate periodic financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including management reports, regulatory filings, and board presentations. Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant financial data and ensure alignment with reporting requirements. Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and local/IFRS regulatory requirements, implementing necessary changes to policies, processes, and controls to ensure continuous compliance. Understanding the accounting framework and reconcile the sources with the ledger to establish controls and streamline bookings of transactions Conduct monthly and yearly financial close activities and reconciliations. Handle remediation initiatives and projects related to implementation of new accounting guidelines, platform conversions, etc. Support implementation of new products for ensuring compliance in financial reporting and accounting areas Increase productivity through automation and process re-engineering to achieve standardization. Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes through process improvement initiatives. Research and interpret technical accounting pronouncements and implement new accounting standards. Plan, design, manage, and execute strategic and tactical financial projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. Manage technology and systems conversion projects of finance systems Mentor team; engage with team to build commitment, set goals, monitor performance and identify training needs of staff & self.Requirements Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience with about 4 to 5 years in a similar capacity in mid size bank.Education / Preferred Qualifications Chartered Accountant Core Competencies Decision taking abilities Good communication Strong inter-personal skills. Issue resolution skills Good teamworkTechnical Competencies Good knowledge of Accounting standards under IFRS and/ or India accounting standards. Sound understanding of banking products across all segments; Exposure to various processes and controls in an automated reporting environment. Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of other automation toolsWork Relationship Strong working relationship with all units in India and within the Finance department itself; Interaction with RBI and compliance team.
