About the Role
We are seeking a highly accomplished Vice President - Operations with 15+ years of leadership experience in driving large-scale Demand/ Supply Planning, Warehousing including Dark stores & retail stores, logistics, and end-to-end supply chain excellence. The
ideal candidate will bring strong expertise across both e-commerce and FMCG environments, with a demonstrated ability to scale operations, build high-performing teams, and deliver seamless customer experiences in a fast-paced, high-growth ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute operations strategy aligned with business growth goals.
- Partner with the CSCO to shape long-term planning for Inventory, logistics, supply chain, and fulfillment.
- Drive innovation in operational models, leveraging technology, automation, and data-led decision-making.
Key KPIs
- Business outcome of P&L: Top line delivery for each channel: Purplle.com and Purplle stores
- Availability of Inventory at Stores/ Dark Stores/ FC level as per consumer demand
- Consumer Delivery: Speed (Order to Deliver), ON Time performance against promise (At WH & Logistics level)
- Cost of operations : Cost per order for B2C, Movement cost per unit for B2B Demand & Supply Planning
- Leading a team of Demand & Supply Planning to ensure we are able to forecast Demand in all service nodes of Retail stores, Dark Stores, Fulfillment center and able to maintain good on-shelf availability of products across TP (Third Party Brands) and Private Brands
- Manage sourcing & distribution of TP brand products from Brand House
- Manage distribution of Private Brands
Logistics Management
- Oversee end-to-end Logistics for B2B (Sourcing, Inter-warehouse movement, movement to retail stores/ dark stores) and B2C (Consumer Delivery of orders)
- Build and optimize a scalable distribution network for urban and non-urban market.
- Partner with 3PLs, transporters, and warehouse service providers to deliver service reliability and cost efficiency.
Warehouse & Fulfillment Operations
- Lead warehouse strategy, design, and execution across multiple locations including DC/FC/ Dark Stores & Retail stores.
- Drive inventory accuracy, throughput optimization, and SLA adherence.
- Champion automation, layout optimization, safety, compliance, and sustainability standards.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Build, mentor, and lead large cross-functional operations teams across geographies.
- Partner with CXOs, category, finance, and technology teams to deliver customer-first operations.
- Establish clear KPIs, monitor performance, and drive accountability across the operations function.
- Process Excellence & Risk Management
- Champion continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence frameworks.
- Build and implement robust risk management and business continuity frameworks.
- Set up governance, SOPs, and strong internal controls for scalable and compliant operations.
Customer-Centric Execution
- Ensure the customer promise is consistently met through best-in-class fulfillment and delivery.
- Drive core metrics such as On-Time Delivery, OTIF (On Time In Full), and Customer Satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of progressive leadership in operations, supply chain, logistics, and warehouse management.
- Strong exposure to both e-commerce/ Quick Commerce and Retail ecosystems
(preferred: dual experience).
- Proven success in managing large-scale, multi-location operations in dynamic environments.
- Hands-on people leadership experience, with ability to inspire large, diverse teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated expertise in automation, process optimization, and cost transformation.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations, Supply Chain, or equivalent preferred.
