- Ideally would have one more senior and one more junior to ensure succession planning - a senior colleague would be responsible for setting the tone and culture.

- These VPs need to be hands-on, in the detail, in the data - this is not a management role given such a small team. Experience in building an excellent high performing team is helpful

Introduction:

- Working in close partnership with the business, provide expert financial support

- Interpret and explain performance within the business on a weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis.

- Provide insight and detailed analysis of topical areas, including proving or disproving hypothesis from the business relating to performance

- Support and advise the business in respect of key financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.

- SME on Lending, RWA and Impairment

- Undertaking decision support analytics to generate insights that inform decision making.

- Proactively counsel and advise the business with ad-hoc analysis and insights on specific issues.

- Supporting and fostering best practice in finance and business performance areas.

What will you be doing?

- Driving ad hoc analysis and insight relating to performance and growth agenda

- Supporting the Segment heads with the end to end management of the P&L on behalf of the Business Head(s), including delivering targets

- Become the SME on Lending, RWA and Impairment

- Drive analytical analysis to highlight insights and enhance business performance

- Understand the primary income drivers of key business areas, both current and proposed so as to drive business performance and influencing decision making through key insights.

- Wide stakeholder engagement across wider Finance / Business Management teams regarding all finance issues and initiatives delivering strong business partnering support.

- Be a trusted partner in all key decisions to ensure that Finance is involved & can influence key financial decisions (including topical focus areas).

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Extensive experience in both financial management and commercial decision support and knowledge of the banking and financial markets sector.

- Advanced understanding of financial and MI processes underpinning exposure, income and cost drivers reporting and analysis. Exposure to Planning process and cycle

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively summarise and interpret complex data.

- Knowledge of Financial services products and systems.

- Knowledge of UK Corporate Banking Segments and Products.

- Good understanding of Treasury and P&L drivers

- Advanced excel skills with financial modelling and analysis background.

- An ability to acquire new skills and assimilate knowledge quickly.
