Job Description

Key Responsibilities: ? Visual Effects Production & Technical Artistry: ? Design, create, and implement high-quality visual effects using SideFX Houdini, including advanced simulations (e.g., particles, fluids, rigid body dynamics, destruction effects, crowd simulations) for various media productions. ? Develop and optimize procedural workflows for efficient asset creation, scene assembly, look development, and scene management, ensuring visual fidelity and performance across platforms. ? Utilize Houdini Solaris for efficient scene assembly, lighting, and rendering within a Universal Scene Description (USD) pipeline. ? Perform lighting and rendering tasks for complex shots and elements, ensuring seamless integration and artistic coherence. ? Collaborate closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to deliver projects within specified timelines and quality standards. ? Technical Implementation & Pipeline Contribution: ? Execute complex visual effects sequences, including advanced procedural modeling and dynamic systems. ? Optimize workflows and techniques to significantly improve production efficiency and quality. ? Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and provide innovative, robust solutions for visual and pipeline problems. ? Develop custom tools, scripts (primarily Python), and intuitive interfaces within Houdini and other DCC software to automate tasks and enhance the production pipeline. ? Contribute to the development and optimization of USD-based pipeline tools and workflows. ? Actively contribute to the establishment and maintenance of best practices, workflows, and technical documentation for the Generalist department. ? Multi-Software & Pipeline Integration: ? Work proficiently with Adobe Creative Suite for basic graphics and design requirements. ? Perform compositing tasks using Nuke and other industry-standard software, ensuring seamless integration of VFX elements. ? Adapt quickly to proprietary in-house tools and software packages as required by specific projects and pipeline needs. ? Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Art, Animation, Compositing) to ensure smooth asset integration and pipeline efficiency. ? Research and Development & Knowledge Sharing: ? Actively contribute to R&D initiatives, exploring and prototyping new techniques, technologies, and innovative solutions in visual effects. ? Document workflows, create comprehensive technical resources, and contribute to team knowledge sharing and training. ? Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and software advancements in visual effects production, sharing relevant findings with the team. ? Potentially mentor junior artists or contribute to internal training sessions, fostering collective team growth. ? Project Collaboration & Communication: ? Participate actively in project planning, technical discussions, and daily reviews, providing constructive feedback and solutions. ? Communicate effectively and proactively with supervisors and colleagues regarding project progress, challenges, and proposed solutions. ? Maintain meticulous project documentation and ensure strict adherence to quality standards and deadlines. ? Possess the ability to accurately estimate deadlines for tasks and consistently meet them.

Required Qualifications:

? Technical Skills: ? Expert-level proficiency in SideFX Houdini with demonstrated experience in advanced procedural workflows, simulations, and effects creation. ? Strong proficiency in Houdini Solaris for USD-centric scene assembly, lighting, and rendering workflows. ? Solid understanding of Universal Scene Description (USD) fundamentals and its application in VFX pipelines. ? Proven experience with Python scripting for Houdini and general pipeline automation. ? Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications. ? Strong understanding of compositing principles and proficiency in software applications like Nuke. ? Basic understanding of the physics of simulation to create realistic and controllable effects. ? Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software tools, proprietary systems, and evolving production methodologies.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
