We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team treatment centre for stray animals, focusing on dogs and cats, located in Goa. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care and support to stray animals in need. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians with treatments, managing animal records, and medication of animals.

Responsibilities:

1. Animal Care and Treatment:

- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care and treatment to stray animals.

- Handle and restrain animals during examinations, vaccinations, and medical procedures.

- Administer medications, under the supervision of a veterinarian, and ensure accurate record keeping.

- Monitor animals' post-operative recovery and provide post-operative care as directed.

2. Animal Handling and Restraint:

- Safely handle and restrain animals during examinations, procedures, and treatments.

- Maintain a calm and reassuring demeanor to minimize stress and ensure the safety of both animals and staff.

- Follow proper protocols for animal handling and restraint to prevent injury or escape.

3. Animal Record Keeping:

- Maintain accurate and updated records of animals, including medical histories, treatments, and vaccinations.

- Assist with electronic record management, ensuring completeness and organization.

- Collect and record data on animal health and behavior as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school Diploma in veterinary & animal sciences or equivalent.

- Previous experience working in an animal care facility, veterinary clinic, or related field is preferred.

- Passion for animal welfare and a genuine interest in providing care for stray animals.

- Strong animal handling skills, with the ability to safely restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ?20,000.00 per month
