Job Purpose
Provides support and expertise relative to product cost management for assigned current and new products; serves on the product development core team, provides technical cost estimates for components and tooling to strategic sourcing, prepares and presents cost analysis and cost roll-ups for milestone reviews, prepares and presents current product key model cost evolution analysis and causals each month during platform meetings, all to achieve new program objectives. Responsible for the overall tracking and reporting of product costs and making recommendations to the team in order to meet program targets
Key Responsibilities

• Subject matter expert on components / processes responsible to update cost parameters including following up on new processes or technology cost
• Optimize product cost by proposing, collecting, evaluating and consolidating Cost Reduction opportunities or more economical design/process alternatives
• Follow up with all product engineering teams to monitor the evolution of the product cost activities and to support the elaboration of corrective actions to absorb any major deviation
• Monthly closures monitoring to verify the activities on product costs reported by Engineering and consolidation in an holistic report
• Database management
• Monthly Analysis on product costs and cost reductions committed and collaboration with Finance to evaluate work in progress and corrective action
• Deliver new product programs to product cost targets
• Deliver margin improvement initiatives to platform GM targets
• Drive accountability within the cross-functional teams to deliver on cost targets (new and current)
• Engage, analyze and lead key Product Cost topics within the Change Review Board / similar forums
• Leads implementation of initiatives to solve discrepancies between top-down target and bottom-up costs (including cost red initiatives on current product)
• Prioritize the costing activities by collaborating across the teams to meet the programs timeline
• Analyses and decides make or buy arbitrages

Experience Required

• 10+ years of relevant experience in off-road or automotive industry with vehicle systems product development

• Agricultural or Construction Equipment background or relevant experience in off road machinery engineering will be preferred.
• Experience with System Engineering.
• Experience in design to cost and component cost evaluation
• A strong background in requirements capture and management processes
• Ability to work with tight deadline and under pressure
• Ability to work transversally with different teams and stakeholders
• An independent thinking is required. Able to work under minimal supervision and to manage multiple projects

• Bachelor / Master's degree in mechanical engineering or another related field
