Job Description

We are seeking a Valuation Associate to join the Butter Money operations team. This role blends real estate valuation, customer engagement, and loan operations, helping our customers get faster, more transparent, and digitally enabled property valuations as part of their mortgage journey.
You'll work closely with our credit, operations, and product teams to perform on-ground valuations, prepare reports, assist in building our e-valuation product, and support the overall home loan process.
Responsibilities
1. Property Valuation & Analysis

• Conduct on-site inspections for residential, commercial, or plot properties.

• Collect, verify, and record property details -- ownership, physical condition, amenities, locality, and legal documentation.

• Perform valuations using Comparable, Income, Cost, and DCF methods.

• Prepare professional valuation reports aligned with RICS, IBBI, or IVS standards.

• Maintain internal databases for comparable properties and market benchmarks.

2. Mortgage Operations & Customer Support

• Work closely with the Ops team to manage valuation workflows as part of the home loan process.

• Coordinate with customers, developers, and financial institutions to ensure seamless valuation and loan processing.

• Engage directly with customers -- guide them through valuation steps, collect required data, and ensure a smooth experience.

• Provide updates to the credit and ops teams, maintaining strong turnaround and quality benchmarks.

3. Digital Valuation & Product Development

• Collaborate with the product and tech teams to build and refine Butter Money's e-valuation / desktop valuation product.

• Help define logic, data inputs, and workflows for automated or semi-automated valuation.

• Test and validate new features and tools; provide structured user feedback.

• Contribute to building digital checklists, data templates, and AVM (Automated Valuation Model) logic.

4. Field Visits & Market Research

• Visit customer sites or projects for physical valuations.

• Liaise with developers, brokers, and local offices for data verification.

• Capture on-ground insights and pricing trends to strengthen our valuation intelligence.

• Represent Butter Money professionally in all external interactions.

Qualifications
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Economics, or Real Estate Management.

• Preferred: Certification or pursuit of RICS / IBBI Registered Valuer (Land & Building).

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in real estate valuation, credit appraisal, or home loan operations. o Prior exposure to valuation reports for banks/NBFCs preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Excel-based valuation models and financial analysis.

• Familiarity with GIS tools, valuation software, and CRM/loan management systems.

• Understanding of digital workflows, APIs, or product feedback cycles is a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and customer engagement skills.

• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

• Comfort with travel and field inspections.
